- First, (you can do this if you want) make a copy of the background layer. The background layer would most likely be that storm picture you'd want to darken. I did this just in case I didn't like what I first came up with, so I could delete the copy and not mess with the actual image.
- Next, go to the burn tool, O for shortcut, lower the exposure panel at the top to about 15% and to the left change the *range panel from highlights, midtones, or shadows.
- As for what I before about changing the range, just play around with the range and see what you like or come up with.
